Argentine Organized AgTech Week for the 3rd Consecutive Year
On August 19th and 26th, AgTech Week gathered public and private organizations to present advancements and achievements on Applied Technology for the Argentine Agriculture Sector to 180 national companies and 60 international guests from USA, Israel, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Chile, South Africa, India, and Colombia.
Buenos Aires, August 28, 2020. The Argentine Agency of Investment and International Trade (AAICI) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized AgTech Week for the 3rd consecutive year. AgTech has become a registered trademark in Argentina and this time in virtual format, AgTech Week took place at the XXVIII AAPRESID Conference (the annual event organized by the Argentine Association of Direct Sowing Producers).
AgTech Week aims to promote Argentine Agro-Tech high quality sector in the world to become a leading voice in the region. In fact, it is the perfect scenario for all business opportunities, as AgTech seeks to reinforce cooperativism and foster public-private partnerships.
Juan Usandivaras, President of the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade, highlights: “Apart from premium commodities, the Agricultural sector produces technology, jobs, and knowledge base. Our research, our experiences, and the know-how that we have in this sector have made Argentina a producer of high quality food for many years. Adding value to these products is our challenge, so we are working towards an agribusiness model in which, not only we sell our great products, but we also enhance further our value chain to give a competitive advantage through the full capacity of our Argentine Agricultural sector”
During AgTech Week several discussions took place, such as sustainable food production systems, soil conditioner use, technological ecosystems, Argentine AgTech cities, why AgTech is worthy in Argentina. Several calls for entrepreneurs also took place.
This initiative is supported by MAGNA, the National AgTech Cluster that works collaboratively in conjunction with the AAICI, who provides all marketing and commercial support.
AgTech is comprised by innovative startups and entrepreneurs, which build technology for the agricultural sector, such as drone technology to monitor crops, Nano satellites (Nano sat), data mining, cultured meat, and cellular agriculture.
